| In lieu of my daily painting, this week I'll share with you my progress on a painting of Mt. Rose. This page will grow daily till the finished painting is posted. Above is Monday morning's progress (I started the sky and major block-in of the mountain over the weekend). This is how my studio looks at about 5:45 am. | ||||||||||||

| Here's a more detailed shot of the lower part of the mountain and the detailing of the trees. I spent a lot of time wandering around at the base of this mountain as a kid, so I'm pretty familiar with alot of the area I'm painting. I've climbed the summit of Mt. Rose four or five times; the first time being when I was 16 - my brother, cousin and I climbed up the face not realizing there was a trail up the south side... | ||||||||||||

| Tuesday morning's progress takes me across most of the mountain. I'm a little nervous about the foreground; I don't want to detail it up too much. | ||||||||||||

| Wednesday morning's I finish off the mountain in the back and block-in the major section of the foreground. I decide to do all the foreground with a palette knife in order to keep things loose. Click here to see the finished painting! | ||||||||||||
